3 Travel Hacks

tools for cheap flights from DC

in our travel era…

We are in our travel era. Big trips, little trips, plane trips, train trips - we’re doing it all this year. While I love DC, there is nothing like getting out of your day to day and experiencing something new! I have several BIG trips planned for the next couple of months, so here are 3 tools hacks on how to find cheap flights out of DC!

Google Flights Map

The Google Flights Explore Anywhere feature lets you set “Washington DC” as your starting destination, and then you can see the price of various trips on a map! Some destinations that jump out to me are:

  • DC → Denver ($98)

  • DC → Chicago ($107)

  • DC → Boston ($113)

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is another great tool for their Skyscanner explore everywhere feature. You can set DC as your “from” destination, and then “explore everywhere” will give you the cheapest flights for any destination worldwide. This is great for international travel, and you can choose the general month that you want to go, and it will search for the best prices for that month.

Airline Email Lists

You can get an airline email and text lists and they will email / text you whenever they have a flash deal. Both Southwest and Spirit airlines are great about emailing you for a flash sale, like the ones below! Typically, flash sales are only for budget airlines, but I’ll try to post these when they happen on my Instagram story.
